This is kind of a spontaneous cover reveal. I am headed to Utopia in just over a day and I am feeling very energized. I am very excited about this upcoming project that I have been working on for months. It is the work closest to my heart. (Hey, I see you there, judging me. Stop that!) It should be out this fall. No presale yet, but I am getting very close to that and will be sure to let you know.

Without further ado, here is the cover for Angry Macey:

The forthcoming Angry Macey by Jennifer Friess

Everyone feels like they are guided at some point in their lives. But what if you were guided to do something terrible? What if you were too angry to even care about the carnage you were about to inflict?

Meet Macey.

Mid-life crisis. Mental breakdown. Payback. Revenge.

This book has an edgier cover, which is in part due to the subject matter, but also I used a new cover designer. She is Creative Paramita and her website is Check her out for all your cover needs!

Oh, and I have another surprise for you. This is what I spent today working on instead of writing. I think it was well worth it ;-D

NOTE: None of these three colors is natural.

From the broken mind of Jennifer Friess, the joining of hearts & souls…

COVER REVEAL: Be Careful What You Wish For

I have been toiling away at my computer to get the next Riley Sisters book out into the universe as quickly as possible. I promise you, I am making progress, albeit very slowly. You know, real life gets in the way and all that. But I assure you, I am still on track for a January 2016 publication date. (Ask me next week, and I may have a different answer for you…)

If waiting for Miley’s story is killing you, then maybe a sneak peak at the cover will help. Now, you have to understand, Miley is different than her sisters Jane and Kiley. Miley is open to more exciting adventures. She isn’t really bothered by a pesky sense of responsibility. She is looking for life to be fun. Which, somehow in the pursuit of that, it kind of turns out the opposite for her.

Just to remind you, here are the juicy details:

Miley Riley always dreamed of being famous in the spotlights of Hollywood. Achieving those dreams seemed pretty unlikely coming from the Podunk farm town of Oakley, Alabama. With no talents and no college education, she had settled into her career as a party planner and sharing an apartment with her on-again, off-again boyfriend. When the movie based on her twin sister Kiley’s book begins shooting in California, Miley wastes no time in making the trip with her for a once in a lifetime vacation. Her wildest fantasies come true when she meets a dark-haired heartthrob, rising movie star Mark Tennyson. Their relationship heats up quickly, much to the chagrin of Miley’s family and best friend Travis.

When her new L.A. life begins to publicly crumble, Miley discovers who she can really count on. The road back to her real life returns her to Alabama, but will be filled with unconventional risks. Miley will learn to Be Careful What You Wish For…

I present to you, the cover Book 3 in The Riley Sisters series, Be Careful What You Wish For.

What I Learned This Week – 12/2/12

This week learned that the Fearless books are being re-released in new editions.

Simon Pulse, All Rights Reserved

I saw these at Walmart and left a big puddle of drool on the floor. The new covers are hauntingly cool, although I hate change, so I will always like the first generation of covers the best.

I almost bought them for the sake of having them and supporting the series, even though I already own them all. What stopped me was the typeface. In the original editions of the series, there were no actual chapters, just a typeface change that signaled a character, location, or time shift. This was AWESOME!

In the new books, they have converted that unique typeface, and now the only thing that sets it apart from the rest of the page is that it is bold. Bold? How lame.

But sooo excited to see these re-released, although they might feel a little dated to new teen readers.

I severely hope that this means a movie is on the horizon.

Remember, I already have the soundtrack selected;)
