I feel about writing how I feel about painting or drawing. It is all art. We all take our own creative license with the tools given to us. That is what makes each of our voices unique and interesting.
While every book shouldn’t sound like a dry instruction manual for an appliance, there are rules we all need to follow so that the errors and inconsistencies do not distract from the story that is being told.
I am a freelance editor available for proofreading fiction books and other documents. I have edited self-published books, as well as book manuscripts headed off to an agent. I can correct punctuation, grammar, spelling, etc. Currently I am running a special. My special rate is $0.004 per word. This would work out to $200 per 50,000 words and $400 per 100,000 words. Affordable rates and a fast turn around.
I can also type up any documents that you might need, such as resumes or press releases.
I use The Chicago Manual of Style, 16th edition. I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, with a minor in English.

Projects I have edited:
Ms. Friess edited my first novel, More Things In Heaven and Earth. I thought the draft I sent her was complete but, thanks to her careful eye, Ms. Friess was able to catch several errors I missed. Her observational skills were exceptional and her grasp of grammar and punctuation is remarkable.
I appreciated how quickly she worked, as well. My book of nearly 100,000 words was edited and returned to me in only about a week.
I’m confident that my book was much improved by Ms. Friess’ thoughtful assistance. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her to any author looking to present a polished and professional manuscript. –E.A. Comiskey, author of More Things in Heaven and Earth
[Note: I edited a submission draft prior to her being picked up by Nuff Said Publishing. Her novel is Now Available. Congratulations E.A.!]
